About Usblink.lk is born out of the idea that web news has to be configured differently. Its style and content must be designed to suit the behaviour of a surfer - content to be read on the fly.
For us as editorial direction blink.lk is also about being willing to share equal space with the user. The concept should almost be like the Letter’s to the Editor section in a newspaper becoming as important as the News Pages – Page 16 becoming page 1.

It will take a bottom-up approach and that simply means listening to what is going on around, before we even decide to write, what do people really want to know, what are they saying about anything and everything – not merely as a quote in a story but all in all the content itself driven by the ground swell.
blink.lk will endeavour to provide an information platform, for those who want to connect to each other whether in the island or abroad. We will report on trends, open (information) doors for new opportunity, write on our way-out habits that are so uniquely us and examine the fabric that makes our communities outstandingly Sri Lankan.

Exploring New Frontiers
blink.lk is an experiment in New Media. It will not reject the values of traditional media; it is in fact the marriage of ”conventional” to the freedom of New Media.
While the rigidity of traditional media confined the writer to limited space, New Media proved to be the other extreme, with blogs being sometimes used as tools of intimidation and blackmail. At blink.lk we will design tools which will focus on responsible journalism, giving a greater opportunity for user participation in the story.
We are venturing into an unknown frontier where the rules are yet to be made and hope that this experiment and what we discover will set the grounds for others to follow.
